Youth Hockey in North Carolina
Alyssa began playing roller hockey in Pittsburgh at the age of 6 before moving to Philadelphia and switching over to ice hockey at the age of 8. After moving to Raleigh, North Carolina at age 10, Alyssa played girls and boys hockey for RYHA and the East Coast Eagles.
Prep School: Shattuck-St. Mary’s
After developing in the Carolina youth hockey programs, Alyssa attended Shattuck-St. Mary’s in Faribault, Minnesota for 4 years where she won the 2009 U19 National Championship.
College: Cornell University
Alyssa was a member of the Cornell University Big Red from 2010-2014.
She was named to the 2011 ECAC All-Rookie team and was an assistant captain in her junior year and co-captain her senior year.
Alyssa was a finalist for the 2014 Hockey Humanitarian Award and was named 2014 ECAC Co-Defensive Defensemen of the Year, as well as being recognized as a Second Team All-American.
Professional: NWHL & Team USA
Alyssa represented the USA during the 2014 and 2015 Four Nations Cup, winning silver and gold, respectively. She played one season for the Boston Blades of the CWHL, winning the 2015 Clarkson Cup.
Alyssa then went on to join the Boston Pride of the National Women’s Hockey League and won the inaugural Isobel Cup in 2016.
Alyssa is a 3-time NWHL All Star (2016, 2018, 2019) and is currently in her fourth season with the Boston Pride.
